Name: Adam Kessler
When Adam Kessler became acting president of Academy Mortgage in 2005, he decided the company wasn't going to follow the fast and loose practices that were netting big profits for some in the industry, but ended up contributing to the financial meltdown. By focusing instead on sustainable lending, Academy grew while many mortgage companies were folding. The company now 1,500 people and makes 26,000 home loans
a year, and Kessler was recently named one of Utah's top young entrepeneurs of 2013.
