Critics say the change in language signals a move away from HUD’s primary mission – but HUD officials insist it simply reflects Secretary Ben Carson’s commitment to helping disadvantaged people gain self-sufficiency

Nice to see a focus from government dependency to self-sufficiency. This concept is frightening to bureaucrats and businesses that thrive in keeping citizens under thumb of dependency. When everyone is placing their energies on achieving self-sufficiency for all people, freedom has to be achieved.

Those folks that believe focusing on the negative as their motivations to help fellow citizens, only perpetuate anti self-sufficiency actions including discrimination. These are likely the same people that fill their minds with listening to the media's constant push of negative news and commentary. Of course, Big Government is supported by the negative news pushers as it demoralizes and sucks the energy from achieving self-sufficiency.
